Alright, just a poll with what type of player you describe yourself as regarding MMO's.
So.....what to choose when I arena when I have time (but I have a lot of time), yet Pushing the rating?
Also what about my ''normally'' Hardcore/semi-hardcore PvX option?
I Raid and PvP both competively....so what now?
All in all......I won't vote for their isn't an option that suits my style
Why do folks have to be one or the other? My guild stays ahead of the curve with content but we don't try for server firsts and we have a good time.
This topic has been discussed quite a few times here on WSC. Usually gets ugly.
Hardcore PVE before, but now well, im a student and everything at uni i guess casual PvE
Even if you play 1 or the other there is always one that people enjoy more.
It's just a poll, if you don't want to click a button then you don't have to.
Semi-Hardcore is Casual btw.
If you don't try for server firsts then by definition that is Casual.
You need more gradient, IMO.
Some raid normals regularly but aren't pushing HM.
Raiding normals doesn't mean you are a Hardcore PvE player
And this is why blanket terms like casual and hardcore are flawed. Not pushing world firsts does not make you causal if you play daily, instance every day, raid a few days a week. Casual is someone who logs in a for a few hours after work but only does it a few days a week.
Again this thread (like all those before) will eventually become the big discussion of:
What is hardcore?!?!
Now let me tell you.....there isn't an answer everyone will accept...so it's pointless even using that word tbh.
Let the hardcore/casual discussions BEGIN!
I'm a hardcore casual who enjoys both PvE and PvP.
I'm quite content with not having the "top tier rewards" from 40-man raiding, as long as I am able to acquire rewards of adequate level for doing very well in solo and small-group PvE content.
I also like to take part in battleground-style PvP. I like "open world" PvP in relation to the roaming between keeps and milegates in Dark Age of Camelot, as well as castle defense/offense.
I really don't enjoy Arena style PvP, though.
Which button do I press in your poll?
And as Chrilin said.. this has been done before. A few times.
With WoW Wotlk we tried to run for 2 server first.....yet we also didn't tried for 4 times.
So......we are casuals?
Or as I said Semi-hardcore.....
Your definition is so flawled....
I am a Casual PvP Player when it come to the amount of time spend on the arena (usually I play 1-2 hours once or twice a weak).
But at the same time I push for good ratings. At least on WoW I manage to get 2.2k rating with this amount of gameplay.
I voted for Casual PvP, but I trully see myself as an Ex-Hardcore or Midcore player.
Actually it isn't. Casual seems to be a pretty broad term because Hardcore is a very small term.
Hardcore means you are the 1%
Casual means you are the 99th%
Hardcore PvE, can't wait to try out dem raids and dungeons.
So since WS only has normals, everyone will be casual?
COOL! There can be peace in the internets!
They've already said that the 40M raids are going to be extremely hard and catering to the top 3% of PvE players.
There is currently no classification for what I am.
So I invented a classification...
I'm more of a tag-along hardcore player, I like raiding, I like PvP, but I prefer to explore and gather materials while socializing and when people I'm talking to want to do stuff like raid of arena I tend to tag along and support them.
Well if you don't vote, you can't complain, or something. :-P
So why is "hardcore" a relevant term when you're looking for a guild? A lot more than 1% of the guilds here claim to be hardcore. Does that mean they're all a bunch of liars?
