FFFUUUU Sinus Pressure. Won't stifle my swag.
Great stuff Patrick, thats looking superb and it will be interesting to see how he progress's, I love it when you artists do the step by step threads it makes us non-artists appreciate it all the more
Oh and sorry for the Hijack, also for Dyraele,
A quick little paint over. Colors Subject to Change. A little lazy in places, but its enough for me to start modeling with.
It's looking good so far, thanks for the update!
Hat, Torn Dominion Shirt, Gloves, and Bandana Made. Wish I had time to do more today.
Huge Update. I have modeled out all his Gear. All that is left (sculpting wise) is his face, alien bull skull, pants, boots, and various bits and bobbles all over to give it that cluttered Exile Armor feel. After that comes Game Model Optimization...which I will document in detail for you guys (in case anyone has ever wondered how these millions 'o poly zbrush sculpts are used for to make game models).
Great job, Paterk!
You really nailed that rag-tag Exile look ^_^. The only critique I can offer is that possibly it would be better if you sculpted some detail into the skull on his shoulder, but you probably know better than me . I'm very curious to see how that turns out after texture painting and whatnot.
Good luck with the retopology!
Zbrush Sculpt Finished!
Enjoy checking out the step by step progress!
Wooooow! This is just amazing! Wonderful model! I love his shoulder armor. All the little details are just crazy. Great work!
It turned out really well, great job!
Whoops Paterk, I totally jumped the gun and thought that that earlier version you had was the finished design. I feel really dumb now.
Your finished sculpt is fantastic! Lots of little details, stony-ness on the skin; and lots of little rivet-like things.
Base sculpt looks fantastic now - I can't wait to see it textured and rendered!
Fantastic work, I've only ever dabbled in zBrush, usually just work in Maya / Max but that is really impressive, you seem to have both a mastery of the tool and a great eye for detail.
Game Model. From over 20 Million Polygons to 8000 triangles. Now I am going to hand paint him for that Wildstar feel.
I refined the normal bakes a bit to get some cleaner results. I've also started the painting process. I'll probably do some paintovers to experiment with color schemes.
Nother Quick Update. I still need to paint in more detail, make the specular map and glow maps.
So you've got normal map, and you're adding a specular map and glow maps, will there be a diffuse map also, or is that where the current color is coming from here?
The diffuse map is what contains the shading and color. Yeah I got a normal working there. I have a generic spec map going that I haven't tweaked. I also plan on using glow maps to add some tricks. Ill post my maps real quick.
