    • AI will not be tricked into fighting someone. They will know how you are hurting them, and they will stop it. You will want friends playing with you.
Interesting. Can't say I fully understand though.

    • Faction limitations are a possibility for race/class combinations.
This is much welcomed as well :)

In this game the alts could be different race and maybe quest territory...or just for fun of restarting from bad decisions the game remembers from your bad main self : ).

They also said the crafters would have a role in modifying weapons and gear. Let say put mana augment for that rogue telejumper.

Bad decisions can be reversed/fixed (like karma in fallout). But it looks like some classes may be fixed to races and factions so there may be a need for alts. I would like to have a reason for creating alts :)

I think what they mean is that you can't kite a group of enemies into another group of enemies and have them fight each other. They will likely ignore them and attack you instead.

That or its meant to mean that stuff like classic tanking doesn't quite work. Like, an orc won't ignore the wizard throwing fireballs at him because there is a warrior slightly closer banging their shield and taunting them. Like the other interviews/streams said, people are going to be in charge of their own survival in combat. You can't count on the beefy guy drawing away every threat.

That's exactly it if the example they gave is anything to go by.

So what is the go to forum for EQN discussion? Seen you guys mentioned EQ nexus.

Did a google, and there is also eqnforum.com, and eqnextfans.com (which is a curse site.)

Actually it's too bad. There should be some way of doing that sometimes. With not being able to get XP from killing mobs as there is no levelling of such, the game is about doing quests in best/shortest possible way. All dirty tactics would be a nice change from the constant manual labour :)

For me, because when EQN is out even more casual players will jump ships. I hope they will take their end game hardcore content even more seriously now. For example, I'd like them to rise old raids difficulty after new expansions is out together with drops upgrade. This is going to be main raiders' game (imo), so it would be great if all raids were always worth doing.

Because whether EQNext is a commercial success or not, they have struck the note.
    An mmoRPG is just that.
Not catering to the 1% wasn't what killed WoW. And the ENTIRE GENRE.
What killed it was the CONVENIENCE.
The world is HARD. it HAS to be hard. So hard you can't do it alone.

    Instancing ruins immersion. And community.
    LFG ruins immersion. And community.
    Solo questing ruins community.
Questing up to a 'level cap,' where the 'real' game begins runs contrary to everything a ROLE PLAYING GAME means.
If everyone is playing a role, NOT EVERY ONE CAN BE A HERO. (W* gets this part right.)

    RPGs are about THE JOURNEY.
RPGs are NOT about killing some 'big bad' at the end.
And most of all mmorpgs MUST be about COMMUNITY.

don't get me wrong, Jeremy Gaffney knows what it takes to make the best MMO ever within the EQ2/WoW parameters. The problem is that those parameters are archaic, and should never have become the norm in the first place.
    Dysp and Groossum like this.
