    CPU: 2600k @ 4.6gHz, cooling: H100
    GPU: GTX 570 Classified / GT 610
    MOBO: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO
    RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600
    PSU: Corsair AX1200
    MOUSE: Steelseries Sensei
KEYBOARD: Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless (Cherry MX Brown)
    MONITORS: 24" 1920x1080 / 23" 1920x1080 / 19'' 1600x900
    OS: Windows 8 64bit
    SSD: 128 GB
    HDD: 1TB 7200 rpm x3

570 is on my primary gaming monitor and the 610 is for the other two screens.

Windows 8 is fine. Better than 7 in some ways.

Probably going to try to sell my AverMedia LiveGamer HD. Don't really need it to stream anymore.

Is anyone else saddened to see all these really great machines saddled with some crummy 1080 tv pretending to be a monitor? I have a 6 year old monitor I consider really sub par at this point. It's a 28 inch 1920x1200 monitor. I really should pick up one of the 2500 x 1600 monitors. It's sad that monitor tech has essentially stalled out and waited for TVs to catch up.

I am seeing a lot of PC with 8GB+ RAM. Unless you do Graphic Design or Video Design a PC only needs 8GB.

I'm about halfway through my typical 5-year upgrade cycle. This computer was built in 2010 using my existing case, hard drives, and peripherals.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
CPU: Intel i7 950 (quad core) running @ 3.2Ghz air cooled.
Graphics: (2) PNY Built NVIDIA GeForce 560ti SLI
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage III Formula (this thing kicks butt, dual bios ftw)
RAM: 12 Gigs of Mushkin DDR3 1600 (tri channel)
Sound Card: ASUS Xonar D1 7.1 surround sound card
Hard Drives: (2) Hitatchi 1 TB 7200 RPM Drives
    Power Supply: Corsair 650 Watt
Case: Frozen CPU modified Lian Li, all aluminum construction with removable motherboard tray and a hard drive cage.
    Monitors: (1) 24" Dell Ultrasharp IPS Monitor 1920x1200, (2) 17" Samsung 740B monitors 1280x1024
Sound System: Logitech z-5500 5.1 surround sound system, 500 watt RMS with a 200 watt 12" woofer.
Peripherals: Razer Lycosa keyboard, Razer Deathadder mouse, Razer Timat 2.2 headset.

I used to build computers for friends and family in college, made some decent spending money on the side for doing it. If there is any computer advice I can give it is: Know where your system is bottleknecked, try to create a balanced approach to your hardware configuration because 1 super component won't make up for a bunch of mediocre ones and if you plan on having a really nice headset or set of speakers buy a sound card, onboard sound it awful!

    Mine's a bit "dated." :(

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD FX-4100 Quad Core at 3.6 GHz
    8 GB of RAM
    AMD 6850 with 1 GB
A Corsair PSU but not recalling the wattage, 500 or 600 maybe?
Think the mobo is a Gigabyte M68MT-S2.

Was going to update this year but spent most of my tax refund on a van instead. Next year though I am replacing everything but the OS and maybe the PSU.

nVidia just released their new line of GPU's last week and this week. You should be able to find some good deals on older models.

I don't dual boot, I have great success with WINE/PlayOnLinux. Worst case there's always a VM.
