Inspired by a post from our very own Mizpah, Lead Network & Database Engineer David Ray took the time to write an article talking about the server architecture that will be used for Wildstar, along with some more tech-heavy talk about what goes on with the servers.

Could be cross server/realm chat or a messaging service for those not logged in maybe?

That comment + your username had me in stitches for some reason :whistling:

Was a good read that though - Developer 'Big Brother' is watching WSC! /cowers behind sofa.

I love this article not only because I learned something, but because it shows Carbine develoers are so interested in their fan base they are willing to answer nearly any question if they can.

I hope that the servers are quick enough to avoid exploiting and bugging. I know most flying/wall walking glitches happen because the server can't process commands fast enough, ending up in confusion. (I'm sure most of us MMO players have experienced some funky effects due to server lag.)

Looks interesting, and it looks like you might be able to send offline messages to people, like leave a tell for someone. This would be really handy (at least if that is what he alluding to)

Didn't answer my question as to server types though Wah wah.

I wonder if this is "...we'll scramble the message and convert it into runes if the person is not in your faction."

We saw a pic suggesting this in the Arena reveal article.

I work for a major IT company as a Microsoft Specialist and it's interesting to hear they use SQL on the backend. :)
