Generally for me it all depends on how much conflict exists, honestly. If I am running a raid over and over again, I might refer to my character's adventures hunting for treasure, or fame, but I wouldn't go into specifics unless I could explain why a big bad boss being was repeatedly slain for loot. (Sometimes it CAN be explained from a lore standpoint, depending on the situation).
If something conflicts within the game of course that doesn't make sense (your character is referred to as the one and only
Chosen One or savior hero) then I usually ignore it as the story for my personal character.
To me, it just hinges on a level of personal believability. If one can pass off, for example, there were too many heroes to count there on Icecrown when the Lich King was killed, then maybe I can claim my character was there. If however the lore and story makes it clear only a small group took down Arthas, well then I never go near the idea my character was there canonically. (Is... that even a word? >.>)
Pseudo's "panty-raid" pun at 24:20 was ironically the one he called "not funny" and it was the only pun that made me laugh out loud. Does that mean that I am immature?
