A relaxing game with no quests! I'm sold. Loving landmark!
I get the whole "sandbox" concept, I really do. But generally there are optional MOBs to kill, combat skills to raise, things like that.
Is Landmark really "fun" at this point? Is it worthwhile to spend $60-100 just to see a pretty version of Minecraft or Terraria, minus the monsters?
Wait a month or two and you will probably get in for free.
Isn't landmark jus the building aspect of eqn not the mmo
No, EQNL is still mmo in design for example, Each world holds 10,000 plots.
However this iteration its just messing with the voxels but they plan on adding things like combat for harvesting and such.
EQN is a mmorpg SandPark.
So you don't actually do anything?
Lol its EQs sneaky way of enticing you to make content for them for free
umm...you build stuff?
Looks interesting to me. I haven't tried anything EQ-related since EQ.
Landmark is very fun if you enjoy building. Combat, AI, NPC Towns, all sorts of things will all find their things into Landmark eventually.
Landmark is getting monsters eventually, and optional pvp is on the discussion table.
If you're only sort of interested, it's F2P when it launches officially, so you can just wait. If you're a really creative type and want to try making a few bucks in Sony's Steam Workshop copycat market, you might want to buy in now.
Plots are a little too small right now for me, but I'm used to building big in Minecraft/Terraria, so maybe I need to be more detail oriented. The first week was a little boring doing the progression-gathering, but I'm seeing little houses and castles pop up along the horizon now at this point, so I'm getting my money's worth seeing my little neighborhood grow. Graphics and smooth edges are great, but the fantasy theme is stuck where the other games can be more genre-neutral in ways, and your space is limited a bit. Love it overall!
