Looks so awesome, I love the art style.
This looks like a lot of fun.
I remember a bit of Total Annihilation, I did not play it as much as other games but this one I think I will check out.
Thanks for the video
A bit cartoonish (which i always like), planet destroying, moon and astroid expansions....i'm in! When does it hit the stores? I do hope it comes soon, before Wildstar! Otherwise i wouldn't have the time to play it
Rock missiles ftw! I will definitely check out the kickstarter.
Pewpewpew! The artstyle is pretty easy to take in, which is a good thing. You want to be able to actually see what is going on, and high-end graphs just makes it more clustered or boring to look at.
I dumped some money into their Kickstarter awhile back, can't wait to play it!
It's long over, but they made all their goals.
Yeah I saw that. They crushed their goal, which is rad.
I was browsing the site and I saw that it requires OpenGL. Pardon my ignorance but I really don't know much about that stuff other than OpenGL and DirectX are competitors. For anyone that knows, would this requirement mean that a card that utilizes DirectX be unable to run such a game or do video card manufacturers patch that stuff in their drivers?
I'm really happy for these guys! Even though the TA-style RTS is not my favourite, I love the RTS genre as a whole, and anything which advances it is worth supporting!
If memory serves me correctly, OpenGL and DirectX are libraries separate from your graphics card drivers. You probably have some form of OpenGL on your PC, and it's not bound to your graphics card. DirectX is a Microsoft product/piece of code/software/whatever, while OpenGL is available to all OS's, and I think gaming platforms.
Anyway, on-topic, I was excited when the Kickstarter went up for PA, and it looks like a lot of fun. I played Supreme Commander, but not Total Annihilation. To be honest, I just want this because I like Uber's sense of humor and the freeform idea of fighting anywhere. I am terrible at strategy games, but if I can pump resources into just a few units and control all the asteroids to have them as on-demand missiles, maybe I'll have fun with this.
New video is up. Also alpha starts in may, and the only way to get in is to buy the galactic version at $90 or the Cosmic at $250.
Thanks Azzurri, it's looking good so far.
It's been so long since the kickstarter that I've forgotten and been reminded about this twice now. So.. now I only have to wait until May.
