Red Shift | Dominion | Pergo | Hardcore Progression / PvP

    Raid Schedule:
We expect to raid 20 hours a week dependent upon content and schedules. We will be raiding in the PST time-zone starting at 7PM from Monday to Friday.

    How to Apply:
    http://www.impact-gaming.us/chapters/red-shift/apply
***Our mail servers are awful, please check your spam folder after applying for any correspondence regarding your application***

    About us:
Red Shift is a hardcore, progression oriented raiding guild with a strong background and interest in small and large scale PvP. The guild is currently comprised of members from multiple successful world/server first Raiding and PvP Guilds. There is not a current member of the guild who hasn't competed in a notable raiding MMO at the highest level. Many of the current members have also competed at the highest level in Realm vs. Realm PvP (Guild Wars 2) and competitive FPS clans through TWL, MLG, CAL and CPL. As a guild; we have no governing seniority or preference towards one person’s ability or another’s. We care about results. If you are the best at something, the opportunity to lead and showcase that ability within the guild will be afforded to you.

Hardcore is a word that has a different definition to everyone, so here is what hardcore means to us:
    - You want to win, winning is paramount, and winning is how you have fun.
    - If you're not first, you're last.

We all have jobs and social lives, but we also manage to sleep at least four hours a night as well. Aside from drinking water and driving on winning is a key aspect of what we're about not just as gamers, but as people.

    Requirements:
    - 18 years of age or older.
    - Ability to play in North American time zones or to be able to play unhindered during these time zones for the foreseeable future.
    - Tangible evidence of competitive gaming experience. Preferably PvE raiding and/or PvP. This is not limited to the MMO genre.

    What are we looking for?
First and foremost, we want people who are not just excited about the game but who are excited about the premise of competing in 20 and 40 man raids again. We are not hyped by developer promises or specific gameplay elements but are excited because we know each and every person currently a member of this guild is a solid raider who keeps their mistake count as low as humanly possible. We've all been in a raiding guild where you spend the entire raid wondering when those few people are going to mess up and waste 39 other peoples time. We don't want to have that issue, we don't want to worry. We want to log in, play the game with like-minded people, and be successful doing it. If that sounds like something you're interested in, we are dedicated to making that ideal a reality.

    Guild Wars 2

Violent Impact (VI) was a founding member of the Axis of Insurrection (AoI) World vs. World Alliance in Guild Wars 2. VI and AoI transferred from Dragonbrand to Sea of Sorrows, at the time a Tier 4 Server with a strong Oceanic presence. With this reinforcement to the North American time-zone, VI and AoI helped lead Sea of Sorrows to 9 first place finishes in the Tier 1 World vs. World bracket. With the onset of paid transfers, many guilds, including those from Sea of Sorrows, transferred to World vs. World powerhouse Jade Quarry who over the course of the game has achieved 32 first place finishes. VI, AoI, and the Oceanic presence from Sea of Sorrows decided to move once again to another up and coming powerhouse in Tier 2, Blackgate. VI finished its GW2 career with one final first place finish, dethroning Jade Quarry. Blackgate and AoI continued on to win the newly founded Season 1 of World vs. World undefeated.
    Dragonbrand PVE firsts:
    World Bosses

There are several other world and server first accomplishments in other MMO's including: World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Everquest, Everquest 2, The Secret World, Warhammer Online, Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 and 2.0 and Neverwinter Online. Our officers and members own a multitude of additional achievements throughout their MMO and FPS gaming history, all of which is information that can be obtained and elaborated on upon request.

    Rules and Expectations:

    Before applying:
In order to apply you must meet the following criteria:
•Able to devote 20~ hours a week to raiding during raid hours (TBD).
•Willingness to be competitive in endgame including competing against guilds for progression that spend far more hours raiding each week.
•Able to min/max and understand theory crafting.
•Any online members must be capable of being on Teamspeak. We may require that you have a mic and can talk in the future as well.
•Willing to accept criticism, including adapting or improving when given criticism.
•You understand what Red Shift is about, have read the rules, and will not violate any of them.
•You understand that by joining Red Shift you will not be required to join IGC. Participation in the community is not mandatory, but is open and highly encouraged for every member of Red Shift.
•You must be over 18 years of age.

-Be sure to write as detailed an application as possible! This cannot be stressed enough. It's important because we will use this to decide on whether or not to accept you into the guild. We don't need to know every aspect of your personal life or that you're just a really swell person. We want to know what your gaming experience is, what the competition level was, and how that translates to the present. Existing IGC Members, and former, must apply like all other potential members as there is only a rank within the guild for active Raiders.

    Recruitment Process:
    1. You apply on the Impact Gaming -> Red Shift -> Apply section of the site. Make sure you've reviewed the Rules and the About section before applying. If you were directed here by an existing officer or member please indicate this on the application under referral.
    2. Your application is sent to Red Shift's recruitment mailbox.
    3. An officer will reply to you stating your application has been posted for review, or rejected. Any extra steps you may need to take such as registering on the forums, the website, or providing more information will be sent with every rejection notice. A rejection notice is not necessarily a guild refusal, it will be made clear in the email.
    4. Your application is posted on the forums and reviewed by members and officers. The time for review varies based on feedback and recruitment needs but is generally under 48 hours. Your application process may be expedited at the discretion of the guild officers.
    5. After the voting window is over, your application will be archived based on how members have voted.
    6. An email will be sent to you within 24 hours of the application review being closed. This email will detail your acceptance or rejection. If your application has been rejected you will be notified as to why. You can reapply if you like, but you will have to do the process over again. If you are accepted, instructions on what to do next will be sent to you. Keep in mind that acceptance is still tentative and your efficiency in dealing with it will reflect upon you.

    Penalties:
Depending on the severity of the rule broken, the following penalties can be issued at the discretion of the leader and officers after a brief council:
A Warning - This will generally happen first if a rule is broken unless the rule is severe enough to warrant harsher punishment. No penalty will be issued, but anyone with a warning will automatically receive harsher punishment if they continue breaking that rule.
DKP Penalty - DKP will be deducted in one of two ways:
    1. You will not count as active in the next raid participation and will not earn DKP for that raid.
    2. DKP will be deducted from that member and split amongst all active raiders.
Suspension - This penalty will typically only be issued when members violate the more serious rules within the guild. Suspension means the member is temporarily demoted. You will not be eligible for DKP while raiding and will have none of the privileges worked for by the guild.
Termination - In a few instances termination from the guild may be a necessary. This penalty will be rare and will only happen in the most extreme of cases.

    Resolving Guild Disputes:
If you have any problems with a member or policy in the guild please immediately bring it up with the guild leader or appropriate officer. Even if the dispute is minor you should resolve it as soon as possible before it grows into something bigger. Most of these problems result from pixels in a video game and misunderstandings of personalities. Simply discussing the issue in a timely fashion often shows this and leads to quick resolution.
    No Cheating:
We want to maintain a good reputation as a guild that plays legitimately and accomplishes all of our goals and progression without cheating. When we say no cheating we mean absolutely no botting, hacking, or exploiting. An exploit is any bug that is unintended by the developer and advantageous to the player. It is not tolerated.

    Raid Priority:
Raids will officially start at their proposed time. Raid priority will be as follows:
-Needed roles for that particular raid (we have too many tanks and not enough healers. A tank may have to sit out)
-Members who arrived before or at the start time and are ready to go. There is no priority governing a member being on 4 hours before start time.
    -Members with high raid attendance.

If a raid is filled and there are no more spots available yet more members want to join, then the above priority will be used for spots, with the final metric being raid attendance percent and a slight lean on member seniority. Members will also be asked if they'd like to sit out first. Raids will begin promptly at the start time and not being 15 minutes early is considered being late, and a forfeit of the days DKP content.

    Attendance:
Any member online and actively participating when an item drops either from a raid kill or trash mob will gain DKP for each kill. Raid attendance will also be tracked each raid day depending on how many hours each member was present. Disconnecting mid fight will not count against a member if the boss was downed. If a member is sitting out during a raid they will be required to actively participate in guild farming during raid time in order to get credit for attendance and DKP. What is required to farm will be decided after release when we have a firm idea of what is reasonable and necessary for the guild. Sit out requirements may be changed in the future as well.

Not every guild has a 40 ft tall bunny wearing a sombrero, but Red Shift does.

Healer positions essentially closed outside of exceptional applicants, still need primarily Ranged DPS, limited numbers of melee DPS.
