I like the art style as well! Love Silas's look and stumbling across all these pretty threads! ^_^
She turned into a blueberry when I pushed further, hahaha. And thank you, Mrs. J!
Looks good to me, Silas! If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take to sketch that?
The sketch itself never really takes too long, minute, tops. Then I add what is going to be the top-most layer and go back to do the finer outline, which may take 5 to to 10 minutes if I'm really having to readjust the base sketch.
Then the two layers between the base and the final outline ones are for flesh tones and major articles of clothing for one, and the one overlaying that I use for hair, eyes, and any articles of clothing overlying the base articles I don't want the chance of getting mucked up when I start going back in.
This 4 layer method can take anywhere between just half an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how nitpicky I am, and what character I'm doing. I've basically got Silas memorized, so she doesn't take me as long as she used to. On the whole, this latest one only took an hour-ish. Lasted the whole of some political debate show that was on HBO. XD
Not really my preferred Style, But really good work all the same
Thanks! I think that's all the more encouraging, really, that it can still jive despite not being a preferred style. \o/
*** It was the void that stared back at him, a fine crackle marking perhaps the brew of another spell that twined even so around the lowered pistol.
“No,” she said at last, that same gaze looking on as through from a great distance over time and space. “It will not end here. … Your assumption that it could, was your biggest fault.”
He thought, just briefly, he might have seen the cold shard of pity—just there—only for it to fade again as the pistol lifted—aimed.
“And I am not sorry.”
Still working out Tam's design. The long brown coat is a must, but the other stuff is due to change.
I really like how Tam has turned out so far.
Part of what I like about this style is that it's so unlike everything else.
Thank you very much, on both accounts! I'm still messing around, mostly with the outfit, but the expression in this last one I hope gives off a bit of his actual character.
Second sketch or so of reworking outfit in-progress. Lord. It looks like some serious business is going on, too. Huh.
And now with color, and the reoccurring blue scarf.
Some random sketchery, trying to loosen up a bit.
Espery!Tam. And proof I need to listen to other music, or else it's all going to just be Tam. Help.
I can't believe it's only just Thursday...
Hum dee dum... trying to stay consistent. Have some Silasy expressions. May contain traces of snark.
I envy your style so much!
I would make a granuk warrior in that style (lanky not bulky) with boulder dreads! haha
I really like your Aurin though, best aloof face ever!
I'm on board with everyone else in that I love your sketchy style! Great work! It's awesome to see so many drawings in this thread so far.
Oooh. He's pretty. I love his outfit too!
I love your style, and thanks for showing the stages you went though, I particularly like that, gives me an insight into the thought processes of your creative style..
Now that I actually have a moment and am not madly getting ready for work--
Oh. Mans. Dread!Granuk would be amazing--ohmygosh, what if the dreads were vines? XD Hahaha!
And thank you! The Aurin's definitely aloof and awkward, bless her heart.
