I saw you already had the mail button on top, like in GW2.

Then i got sad when i found out that you still required me to be near a mailbox :/

    Yay you listened

Ah well, tbh I think it's better this way. Noway that I want gear/money to be transported digital or however they send things.

Now for a plain letter....I agree mayby you should be able to read it while away from a mailbox, but for real items I say ''walk you lazy pig!!!'' :D

Can you imagine if all those auctioneers don't have to walk to the mailbox ever again???.....Their characters will get fat!!!!

Think you only need to be at the mailbox to receive whatever items are sent to you.
You can still read messages from anywhere.

Don't see this as much of a problem... It would be great if we can get a mailbox at our house, so we can port there to get mail (have not read much about the game lately, so not sure if it has this or not).

I like the idea of getting text messages instantly, but need to get to a mailbox for items. Makes sense.

Nexus covered in fat, bloated chua......ew!

It seems simply obvious that Carbine would include a mailbox at housing plots. I mean, it's your character's house! Where else would you get your mail? I also wander about an auction house kiosk at your home as well. Pretty sure I also remember the mention of having crafting stations at your house too. With those things, many people would have few reasons to visit settlements.

In a way it could be good. It could cut down traffic and, for some people, reduce lag in populated areas. At the same time it might make cities a little too empty.

I hope they do not rely on artificial means of having people visit capitals (by adding limitations), but they actually add fun stuff so people will want to visit capitals. A FFA arena where we can just get in and fight (like Gurubashi in WoW), social minigames like card tables, slot machines, foosball tables, etc... So you may want to go to your house for some quiet time to work on crafting, but you go to the city for lots of fun...

Right! Cities should have things that modern cities do. It's pretty likely that a big pvp arena could be accessed from the major capitals. Social minigames could be a great thing. Especially if they put them in buildings and business with the right theme. Imagine a Dominion Casino with slot machines and card tables with all the decor and decadence of the highborn. Imagine an Exile pub in Thyad with a dartboard. Even more, imagine that in the Exile pub you can challenge the local Granok to a drinking game.

It adds personality to the city. Even a personality to different neighborhoods of the capital cities. The Cassians have their posh casino. Then, the draken quarter, has the bloodsport arena.

i think they should remove mail box, and allow us to recieve mail from anywhere as long we are inside a major city/hub.

i hate looking for those damn things

Yea I think for messages there is no sense in getting paper mail since all these races have completed intergalactic travel. But, for security and socialization there should be Package Hubs. You go in pick up your stuff and send out what you want. In addition, social games sound awesome it gives me something to do while waiting for friends and guildies, whilst making new friends.

Ask a guard for the nearest mailbox? No need to search :p

Nope it implies that you just thought about it and said (out loud) ''hhmmm mayby I should go to the mailbox'' at which point the guard just casually says ''the nearest mailbox is this way, sir'' not knowing that you knew all along *cough* *cough*

See? You weren't looking for one at all :D

Letters makes the game feel more real. With just scripted "this happened, this is result", it might destroy the good texture of realism? Thats my 2 cents

Of course they could implement a delivery service that would employ little drones to drop off your packages directly to you.

Of course then there is the whole liability of ppl sticking their fingers in the propellers!

I would be more worried with the Chua using them for target practice...

So if people are ok with losing 1 in every 5 packets sent over mail, then sure, let's get rid of mailboxes :S

The issue with that is then the Mailbox system will become an extension of your inventory - simply mail yourself stuff you may want access to at a later date and then you can grab it mid-raid, etc. Why keep stims and food on you, or your PvP Gear, or anything else when it can sit in the mailbox not taking up inventory space.

I'm good with the system as it is - mail can be read anywhere, but physical items have to be collected.
