Well there is the standard flaw that comes with every skinner box. Doing something because of the prize makes it less fun then doing it for the joy of it.
I do wonder about the continued success of the skinner box formula. The more games that are inherently fun the less room you have for the un-fun skinner box type.
Given that "fun" is a highly diverse and subjective term, the best way the industry has to measure it is... well... sales. So I reckon my best advice is the same as it always has been, "Speak with those dollars."
