Ugh, I still can't decide between Warrior and Engineer. Guess I have to try them both. ^^
Do you guys think an engineer tank will play a big role in end game tanking?
I hope all of the tanks will have an equal role to play in end game.
Warrior tonk for sure. In past MMO escapades I've always ended up as a ranged DPS or healer, and always enjoyed heavy armour, in your face, hit you with a large weapon on a strictly alt only basis. Time to go tanking as my main this time.
I'm pretty sure all tank types will have a place end game. The paying public is less forgiving when expecting a certain amount of polish now compared to the genre 10 years ago, so i'm sure all will be viable after the initial tranche of tweaking patches.
Has anyone tried or seen pvp tanking at this point? I'm talking CC, taunts and team defense with negligible damage. I always enjoyed that role in SWTOR.
Still having a hard time choosing between warrior and stalker until I get to try them myself or see more tanking streams.
I supposed the best defense is a good offense; or the ability to stop melee weapons with your face and live to talk about it.
Stalker's evasion tanking sounds very involved and intense.
Just think about the dude that has to heal that stalker tank lol should be interesting to say the least.
Unless of course they make it about dodge percentages and less about actual dodge mechanics. Which would be highly disappointing as it would just be a medium armor tank that attacks miss as you stand still not dodging in the least.
Healer - "OMG STOP DODGING MY HEALS!"
Tank - "I'll die if I stop dodging!"
Healer - "Then what am I for?"
Tank - "To look pretty baby "
Healer - "How are we typing so much during raid bos- .. /wiped"
Of the two classes I'm looking to play, Stalker is the only one that can tank (other is Medic). I got addicted to evasion tanking as a warrior in TERA, so if it's even slightly similar I'm sure it'll be the tank class for me.
I'm interested in seeing how the Engineer tanks, but I'm not a fan of pet based classes, so that kills that option for me.
Given how much I love my Powertech in SWTOR, I'm thinking Engineer
Stalker without any doubt.
