Definitely an awesome surprise. I wasn't expecting this for the update today, but so so good. Good luck to everyone!

They've confirmed that the beta client is 64 bit only. I feel bad for anyone still running a 32 bit operating system.

EDIT: It also makes me extremely happy to hear that they will have a 64 bit client at launch, all games should support 64 bit at this point, as 32 bit is quite dated.

Ok this is the most exciting WSW yet!! I'm so ready to break servers and get a glimpse of Nexus even if it's a slide show lag-fest! I've already cleared my weekend schedule for the next 3 months in anticipation :D

At least it reads like the OC apps will be eligible too. Though with the servers in Texas, there might be some rough lag to deal with on top of the other first stress test potholes.

I guess the other big question would be if only the folks who filled out the survey, that went out in February, will be considered eligible for Stress Test invites? Or do they plan to send out a new survey prior to the Stress Test invitees being selected?

Honestly we don't know what methods they're using for the beta tester selection.Maybe random picks from all the applications or maybe from the list started all the way back when they first announced the beta testing.
Hopefully we all gonna be in it! /go team WSC

Must add a lot to development I guess. Seems kind of short-sighted though.

Nice to see Carbine is planning for Wildstar to have a long future. :)

Good, hoping to be in :)

Things are moving a long smoothly than if large tests are planned in this quickly in beta.
Very pleased about the 64 bit, should make things a lot better on client and server side when dealing with large numbers.

A mmo that finally might be able to stress my system a bit :)

I think it's a nice change that Carbine are doing stress testing before open beta stages unlike the last few MMO's I've played - I'd imagine that it will give them more time/leeway to change things around to solve problems than the usual 'cram in a stress test after everything else is ready'. As a clueless layman I reserve the right to be wrong about it being easier for them though
Happy to attempt the 'login screen' raid boss in any case.

And as always not every important piece of information is actually there.

When do the E-Mails go out about it?
    EU/US/Both?/More?
Since there are no Log-In queues and you try to squeeze in as many as possible and everyone will get access...Does that mean we get to have about 10k+ people on one server? Because that sounds pretty fun and I want to see what happens.

They posted in the article that the E-mails will go out several days before it happens, so people can spend time playing instead of patching during the event.

They posted (Edit: On twitter) that it would be both US and EU, and are currently up in the air about AUS due to lag issues (last part inferred from Twitter post)

There's information to be had, just not always from the article itself.

2nd Edit: They also posted that currently their game client only supports 64 bit systems.

The one thing I'm concerned about is if I filled out the beta application before or after I upgraded my computer. My old one would never be picked to join the beta.

So the stress beta is for US and EU region only then? SEA fans would be screwed then

I guess the number of invites will depend on what they are trying to stress test. If they stress testing their authentication server then there will be a great deal more than if they are wanting to stress test game server/services. So as I perceive this will be very similar to the first few days of Diablo III...
